  1. Spends more time promoteing the authors instead of teaching you how to actually design.

  2. This book is very focused on the design aspect, which makes sense, since it is titled “Web Design Workshop”. Just don’t expect to see any html or javascript in it. Still an awesome book though – very very good design advice for the web.

  3. I bought this book recently. I study at Sessions, a great site for learning design and I wanted to increase my web design basis. I’m fascinated with the simple but deep style of sharing knowledge by the author. It covers all aspects of web design: planning, dealing with clients, layout, composition, tools, etc. Is really a bargain! The real life examples motivate you to run to your computer to start designing new sites. Now I need time to redesign my site…with some new ideas inspired by the book. I love it!

  4. I borrowed this book from the library to see if it was worth purchasing. It has some great design tips and ideas but nothing that can’t be found in other books in greater detail. The glossy color pages make it fun to browse through, but there isn’t enough detailed information on the various design topics.

I skimmed through the book within two or three days and don’t see it as an item I will bother to purchase for my personal Web design library.

  5. I say that because everyone who reads this book will increase their web deisign skills dramatically resulting in an increase in the competition. If your a web designer or more importantly a web design student you must read and re-read this book. Robin Williams (not Mork from Ork) has written this book in such easy to understand language that you can literally read it from cover to cover and not get bored. Each time I pick it up I get excited knowing I’m going to learn something new and useful. Thanks Robin!
